her VOICE is a Texas 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women who have suffered intimate partner violence (IPV) or domestic violence (DV) through mentorship and education.

This organization originated from the vision of Dr. Shana D. Lewis, LPC, NCC. Dr. Lewis has been a clinical therapist for over 13 years and has worked with a variety of clients and treatment issues. Due to her passion in working with women and adolescent girls for the last 5 years, she specializes in helping them become strong,

self sufficient, and empowered. Through this work, Dr. Lewis became inspired by her clients who were survivors of IPV or DV. She began working with these women in efforts to help them find their voices which had been silenced by their abusers. Dr. Lewis noticed that something was missing in the work she was doing with these women which seemed to impact the success of their recovery.

Dr. Lewis desired to create an opportunity to have greater influence on the lives of IPV/DV survivors. She wanted to help them remain safely separated from abusive relationships and actively engaged in recovery by regaining her life and her VOICE. As a result of this, she coupled her passion for mentorship with her desire to empower survivors of abuse. Thus her VOICE was created as a mentorship program for women who are survivors of IPV/DV. Survivors will mentor one another in this program creating a strong informal network for each.
